About simpleTasks
simpleTasks is a simple, shared task manager for small teams. You sign in with your email — no password to remember — create a board, and invite the people you work with by email. Tasks move across To Do, Doing, and Done, and can carry subtasks, assignees, due dates, and notes.
It also supports voice planning: tap the microphone and say what you need done, and simpleTasks turns it into an editable plan of tasks you can review before saving.
Getting Started
- Sign in with your email address — we send you a one-time code, so there's no password to create.
- Create a board for a project, a team, or whatever you're organizing.
- Invite collaborators by email so you're all working off the same board.
- Add tasks and give them subtasks, an assignee, a due date, or notes.
- Move tasks across To Do, Doing, and Done as work progresses.
- Tap the microphone and describe what needs doing to draft a plan by voice.
Frequently Asked Questions
My sign-in code never arrived
Sign-in codes are sent by email and usually arrive within a minute. Check your spam or junk folder first, and confirm you entered the same address you normally use. If it still hasn't arrived, request a new code — older codes stop working once a new one is issued. If nothing comes through, email us and we'll sort it out.
How do I share a board with someone?
Open the board, then invite the person by email address. They'll get access once they sign in with that same address, so make sure you invite the address they'll actually use.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
simpleTasks can send push notifications about your boards and tasks. You can change this at any time in the iOS Settings app under Notifications → simpleTasks.
Voice planning isn't picking anything up
Voice planning needs microphone access. Open the iOS Settings app, go to Privacy & Security → Microphone, and confirm simpleTasks is enabled. What you say is turned into a draft plan that you review and edit before anything is saved.
Where does my voice recording go?
Voice planning is not processed on your device. When you record, the audio is uploaded to our server and passed to a third-party transcription service (OpenAI) to convert it to text, and the resulting text is then turned into a draft plan by an AI planning service. The recording is not kept after it has been transcribed. If you would rather nothing leave your device, type your tasks instead — every other part of the app works the same way. How do I delete my account?
You can request account deletion at any time by emailing us from the address associated with your account. We'll delete your account and its associated data. If you'd rather remove just one board, you can delete that board from within the app.
